Douwe Dekkers

Douwe Dekkers joined the Norwegian National Ballet in 2011 and was promoted to Principal dancer in 2017.

Born in the Netherlands, he started his training at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and later continued at the Royal Ballet School in London from which he graduated in 2011.

During his time with the Norwegian National Ballet his repertory includes various  principal roles (Cinderella, Nutcracker and Swan Lake), ‘des Grieux’ (MacMillan’s Manon), ‘ Lensky’  (Cranko’s Onegin), ‘Don José’ (Scarlett’s Carmen), count ‘Alexey Vronsky’ (Spuck’s Anna Karenina), Løvborg (Hedda Gabler) Balanchine’s Theme and Variations and Agon.

His contemporary work with the company includes ballets by Kylián, Lightfoot-Léon, Forsythe, Wayne Mcgregor and Nacho Duato.
